I am pleased to announce that My Natural Baby Birth has been nominated and honored with the Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award. This came from Debra, a truly kindred spirit from Lets Grow A Child.
I was indeed surprised but also grateful for the distinction and am very thankful beyond words. It is pure recognition from bloggers to other bloggers in celebrating and representing a class of women that strive diligently to bring good fortune to others through their hard work and dedication.
My desire is for this to continue while we show appreciation and recognition to others while fulfilling our roles as mothers, women and divine sisters all over the world. I hope to have brought that reflection and insight to all you natural baby birth mothers and prospective ladies anywhere you are.

Questions That Debra Asked Of Me
Now we’re going to get personal and share a bit.
What are your best and worst qualities as a person or a blogger?
This question is always difficult. I feel like I’m being interviewed for a job. Gosh.
I would say that one of my worst qualities is also one of my best and I’ll explain why. I’m pretty determined. Sometimes this can get in the way of my taking care of things that may often be more important, such as playing with my children and devoting time to my husband. But it’s also great because when I want something SO much, I am constantly thinking about working on it and how to make it better-thus the creation of My Natural Baby Birth.
What brought you to become a blogger and do you find it enjoyable?
I don’t really consider myself the typical blogger. You know, the ones that post content based solely on just them and their experiences exclusively. Sure, there is great merit in learning from one’s own experiences; I do the same a portion of the time. But I wanted to help make a difference for other mothers looking to birth their children and bless them with the best gift they could bestow. Of course, bringing me to this was a determination to help better provide for my family as well.
What do you do in your down time for enjoyment?
I read novels, self-help books and religious texts. I like to attend theatre and movies with my husband, taking my boys to the park and just playing with them. I enjoy running and hiking, especially in the mountains around where I live.
What is the best time of day for you to do work as a blogger?
It depends on the day of the week and how busy I am at work or at home. I also work full time and often can find time in the early morning to work on My Natural Baby Birth. But if I’m at home, it’s after the boys are in bed and my husband is often playing Xbox with my brothers late into the night.
Is blogging your only source for income, and if not what else do you do for employment?
I do also work at a genetics company where I am a Validation Project Manager-fancy words for doing lots of analysis while keeping people on track so the FDA doesn’t bite us in the back.
What satisfaction do you find in blogging?
I like knowing that I am helping others every day with things they may just need simple encouragement with. I don’t feel that I need to be a certified professional or heavily decorated person in order to help make a difference in someone else’s life.
What is your greatest frustration in blogging?
The days when it is just hard to keep going. The days when I wake up and have no desire to work, or exercise, or eat well, or when my boys are just driving me crazy, or someone is sick that I need to take care of…..and it just all takes away time from things that I love. But it all comes with being a mother, friend, mentor and blogger-taking things one day at a time. But it also builds us up to becoming stronger than we ever were before.
How do you feel blogging will change your life?
It will bring a new sense of fulfillment not only for myself, but to those that I may have touched in a tiny way online and through media.
What do you do better than blogging?
Surviving. I don’t need blogging to survive. Survive as a woman, as a mother, as a wife, as a daughter of God.
What are the best and worst qualities you find in others?
Sorry, Debra. But I’m not going to answer all of this question, only the first half. The best qualities I find in people are when they are SELFLESS. It brings greater joy to those they interact with and to themselves from above when they exhibit such divine qualities. Integrity, virtue, charity, kindness….there are so many to pick from. But just think of a person that you admire, and you’ll know all the qualities that are best in that person, even the ones you want to nourish more in yourself.

Let’s have a little fun now:
- What do you like about yourself?

- What are you most immediate goals in life?
- What’s your favorite book or movie?
- What strength do you have that you wish you could instill in others?

Thanks Debra, that really means a lot to me. Bless you and your family.
Well after trawling my way around your blog for a while I can only say that you thoroughly deserve the reward. The information I’ve uncovered here is second to none and I’ve learned a lot about childbirth I did not know beforehand. Keep up the good work - more rewards are only around the corner
Thanks Chris. I appreciate your comments.
Hey Sarah. I found your site encouraging. I too have birthed naturally
I believe it is one of the best things I could ever do for my son. I had a hard 36 hour labor. I was fortunate enough to birth at home with a midwife. I have encountered many haters along the way. But I knew from the beginning this was the choice for me. We made sure to be as safe as possible and I was extremely healthy with my eating and exercise. I would have loved a site like yours when I was going through my pregnancy and birth as it would have been some support that I needed. I think that this site is a blessing to those who choose to birth naturally. Thanks so much for sharing
That’s wonderful to hear Kayli. But gosh-36 hours!? What a trooper.
Thank you for sharing and please send anyone looking for the same this way so that we can help those who do support the best births for our children.
Dear Sarah,
First of all, I want to Congratulate you on obtaining Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award.
Great job.
Keep it up.
I love your Website.
It was great to read of your experiences and how you manage to fit in time when you can to your Blogging and Website.
I couldn’t agree with you more when you said you are a daughter of God and how you strive to make an impact whether big or small in the eyes of those that read your wonderful Content on your Website.
Here’s to you and your continued success online Sarah above and beyond the horizon,
~Angel
I appreciate that so much, Angel. No matter what anyone believes, I DO believe that we are all daughters of God and have such divine gifts that we indeed should share with others as much as we can. Feel free to visit anytime, thanks!
This is a very soothing site, I don’t know maybe because it is about babies, but for some reason I felt real at ease while viewing it.
your site is easy to navigate, has engaging quality content, that is helpful and informative. I saw one error in your grammar it near the bottom on your opening page you typed in other when it should have been others. I think overall this is a nice site with a very definite target audience. ggod luck with your online business.
Thanks Maurice. I find that even after using the spell check and grammar helper I use there’s still a few mistakes that slip through. Thanks to being human! I make the edit and appreciate your feedback. Best to you!
Hi Sarah,
I just want to say I enjoyed reading your post and how you answered those questions Debra asked you. I was actually amazed how you and your family reminded me of my own:) I also have two boys and we are waiting a third child, although we don’t know whether it will be a boy or a girl.
My wife also has a husband who likes to play Xbox with his friends (that’s me, lol). And our boys also can sometimes drive us crazy:)
I think you are a wonderful woman and you are doing amazing things writing on your blog. Keep it up and I wish you and your family all the best!
Congratulations on the baby to come, Dmitriy! I’ve found many parents in the same situation as myself and it’s comforting to know that it’s really a small world after all. Feel free to share with your wife or loved ones and let me know if I can help in any way for your upcoming birth. God bless!
Thank you for your kind words, Sarah!
You’re quite welcome, Dmitriy.
Congratulations on the award! That is so awesome! I definitely understand the frustration part about blogging. I find I even do this just working from home, waking up and feeling 0% motivation. It kind of sucks, a lot, but then I have days where I am ultra productive. Do you do the same thing?
Also, I really like the questions you came up with for your nominees. I think they will definitely help their readers understand them better.
Oh yes, I have great days and then crappy ones all the time. Then I feel guilty when I haven’t been productive, but I can sometimes make up for it, I guess. I’m not at the point where I can work from home, but I would love to reach that moment in time like you. Thanks Steph!
My girlfriend would actually love this site. She is studying to become a naturopathic doctor and is heavily involved with anything that has to do with natural medicine. (I think it’s interesting that you work in genetics though!) As a new blogger it’s interesting to hear how you deal with staying at it day after day, because like everything else, there becomes a point with everything that you just want to put down the pen and “do it later”. Puts a newbie at ease knowing it happens to everyone. Congrats on the nomination and keep up the hard work!
As I was just telling Steph, I have bad days too, at least once a week when I just have no motivation. It was really hard in the beginning of this pregnancy to be productive because I was sick and just so drained.
Thanks for your comment Frank!
