Delivery

Here it is . . . the dreaded D-word.  Most of us can handle the throwing up, and the nausea, and the itchy belly, the swollen ankles, the horrible acne, being hot ALL the time, maybe even the labor . . . I don’t need to continue.

But can we handle the delivery?  Have you asked yourself this?  I’m sure you have, thousands of times.  I thought the same things myself:  “How am I going to do this?  Will I know what to do?  What if something goes wrong?  What if, what if, what if?”

Don’t waste your limited energy on what ifs

That’s why you have your doctor there, your nurses, your husband, your mother, your midwife, whomever is there with you wherever you are.  You don’t have to do this by yourself.  If you literally are doing this without a loved one, then confide in that nurse or doctor.  Tell us here for heaven’s sake!  We are here for you!

REMEMBER, all of your preparation has been for this moment, this exact point in time, to finally bring this baby into the world.  If you have gone through everything dealing with pregnancy and labor and you’ve gotten through them, I PROMISE you will get through the delivery.  The delivery is the moment where you can control your actions.  Labor you can’t really control at all; it’s your body doing all the work on its own.

Delivery is you working WITH your body

It’s more than just pushing, and grunting and moaning and maybe even yelling.  It’s your baby saying they’re ready to finally come see you.  Their dear little spirit is ready to experience the world on their own.  And you get the blessing of helping them do that.

Here’s My #1 Recommendation For Your Natural Birth

Delivering a baby is hardest thing you will every have to do.  You’ve climbed that mountain of labor and know you’re being pushed to your very limits, to the edge of your capacity.  But I promise its REWARD is the most joyous you will every experience, and all us daughters of God are recipients of that divine blessing.
