Hallelujah For New Life - What Easter Means For Mothers

Springtime is here and with it comes the new growth of the Earth.  The tulips start to press upward from the ground.  The fruit trees start to blossom.  And warmth envelopes the atmosphere again.

It is also a wonderful time to celebrate the new life that you are so divinely gifted to grow inside of you.  Many babies are born in the spring, so the odds are that you’re carrying that precious bundle of joy.

This week also marks our yearly celebration of Easter—the ultimate epitome of life.  Hallelujah for new life, exemplified by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We honor his sacrifice, glory, and life during the Easter season.

Hallelujah For New Life

Without Jesus Christ, we as mothers would not have the gifts we have of being the precious chalice that brings forth new life into this world.  He bestowed that gift upon as and granted all the abilities and necessities associated with it when he helped create our world and our bodies.

We owe all our thanks and purest gratitude to him and his endless charitable love toward us.

But, sadly, some mothers are not grateful for the gifts they have been given. The difficulties and trials that come with bearing and rearing our children are certainly not without merit. Many mothers despise and become resentful of their role because of such challenges that come with it.

Pain Of New Life

As women, we’ve all said or done something toward our own spouses to blatantly clarify that they will never understand the pains and suffering we go through.

  • They will never understand the strain that our bodies experience whilst lifting such a heavy load.
  • They will never be able to comprehend what exertion, mental capacity, and strength it takes to go through the birthing experience.

Then after trying times with a newborn baby, many of us go through terms of depression and dark days.  There often seems to be no light in our life anymore because of the demands put upon us.  We no longer know who to look to for guidance and support because the adversary would believe we’re unfit to fulfill what we were destined to do.

But what many of us forget is that there IS ONE single person that completely understands EVERYTHING we go through.

The Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, has felt every single pain, heartache, gut-wrenching moment we’ve experienced as mothers.

As he suffered in Gethsemane and upon the cross, he felt all the sorrows and intensified moments we ourselves have and will feel.

  • He knows EXACTLY what we’re going through.
  • He knows exactly how it feels to be pregnant, go through labor, and give birth.
  • He knows exactly how deep our pains, grievances, doubts, and fears run.

Easter For Mothers

He also knows about all the good things we cherish.  He knows about the precious moments we have in the quiet hours of the night as we stare at our beautiful children who’ve just fallen asleep.  He knows and has felt the way we feel when we first hold our babies in our arms.

He blesses us women, his sisters, with gifts and talents far beyond even our own comprehension, so that we can move forward every day with those joys that others may not be able to share with us.  He blesses our bodies to do miraculous things over and over again without us having to even try.

He grants us the fulness of joy that can only come from bearing and birthing a baby, watching them grown, and filling our cup of love to overflowing for our families.

→ This Easter season should be a reminder of that.

What Easter means for mothers is that we CAN go through the tribulations placed upon our shoulders and still get through the journey.  We are always equally yoked with our Savior and he will carry us every step of the way if we let him.

Let this week be about the love and support we receive from him when we praise all the glorious blessings he has bestowed upon our lives.

Remember that Christ is the sole reason we have our motherhood to experience at all.

We simply need to shout “Hallelujah!”

When I held my first baby boy after he was born, all I could say was “Wow….oh, wow.”  And I give all the glory and praise to my Lord Jesus Christ for my many blessings.

Allow yourself to experience your pregnancy and birth peacefully by remembering whose hand has bestowed this gift upon you.  He grants us peace beyond every measure we can provide for ourselves.

I love you dear sisters!  We all have a common divinity and I pray that you see that reflected back to you as you gaze at your babies after they’re born.  Please share the joys in your heart and I look forward to sharing them with you.

Awesome post glorifying Jesus Christ here and I just love it, Sarah! If you wish to find another site that glorifies Jesus as much, you may only come to my site. I like the Hallelujah spirit you’ve revived here with this Easter. We remember the sacrifices Jesus suffered for our sake, salvation and life! We’re surely reminded more about life when we come close to mothers and newborn infants. Thanks for this fresh and refreshing post, Sarah!

For me Easter is a lot like Thanksgiving. It’s about being thankful for all that I have, because I know how much worse things could actually be, and being so grateful that I have my friends and family and my health and my happiness and God to see me through anything that may come up.

I agree. I think Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Independence Day and Memorial Day all have similar feelings of gratefulness. We need it more in our lives and having so many holidays, especially Easter and Thanksgiving to focus on it, certainly helps.
