I was watching my feed recently and saw a post about a marvelous gal. This African American Olympian runner that was competing for the Olympic trials was running her race seven months pregnant!
After reading the article, I guess that she wasn’t pregnant when she started training. But then life happened and she continued on with her bundle of joy.
What I love about her is that she didn’t let it stop her! She didn’t give up on her current goals and priorities. She ran her race and continued through to the end. The best part about it is that she said her doctors encouraged her to keep going because there was no reason not to.
Although she didn’t qualify for the Olympic team, she finished, she completed, she crossed that finish line. Even the audience gave her a standing ovation as she ran that final stretch.

Inspiration & Intention
How inspirational! Now I’m not saying that you have to go out and run marathons while you’re pregnant in order to make a statement. You don’t have to figuratively climb mount Everest with your baby on your back.
I’m just saying that anything is possible when you focus on your goals. Having your baby in the picture is just another way of making that reality beautiful.
I know we’re not all Olympic runners.
I know we’re not all seasoned mothers.
I know we’re not all experienced natural birthing mothers.
I know we’re not able to apply the one-size-fits-all in our lives.
I know we’re each unique and individual.
I know that we’re gifted with strengths beyond our comprehension.
No matter what happens to us in the circumstances that we find ourselves in, taking part in the path we’ve chosen is a blessing. When you don’t achieve your goals, it can be a blessing in disguise.
When you don’t achieve your goals, it can be a blessing in disguise.
When your world shatters and falls apart, you are more gloriously refined after picking up the pieces. You are stronger than you think you are and will never doubt your regret live when you choose to live it with intention.

Those are just some of my thoughts this morning. How do you choose to live your life with intention, no matter what happens?

Walking and running was the toughest thing to give up when I was pregnant with my second daughter. She was situated on a nerve and it was hard to stand for to long with out being in pain 🙁 Then I went into a bit of preterm labor with her, and was on bed rest. But, now the three of us get out three times a week for a three mile walk and I couldn’t be happier 🙂
I’m glad that you keep going even after pregnancy. I’ve had to retrain myself to run after having kids. I hope to get them jogging along side once they’re a bit older too. Thanks, Bekah!

This is wild. But I remember getting on the treadmill and elliptical til I couldn’t take it anymore. Now I feel like I never have time to work out anymore like I did before baby!
Hi Marie! Can I suggest making it part of your morning routine, even before your baby wakes up? How old is your little one? Have a great day.

Hi Sarah,
Your headlinedcaught my attention, as my sweetheart would be one to answer, “I would!” She loves running, and it shows. Her kids are very healthy and active also. She and I didn’t meet until her kids were 4 and 2, respectively (we both were divorced at that point) and I’ve never asked if she ran during her pregnancy but I will now. I do know she worked hard to exercise through it and and I believe her daughter (second child) was a natural birth.
I feel your site will be likely to help a lot of people. Good for you!
Best wishes,
Kevin
Thanks so much Kevin! I would love to hear from your wife and her perspective on running while pregnant. Thanks for your comment.
